I'm 25, just graduated college, lived in Houston my whole life and am bored to ****. I just got a job offer from this company; 45G a year. They said I could work in either their Austin lab or their Nashville lab. I want something a lot more outdoorsy but I want to do it with people my age not a bunch of old people. What is better to meet people there my age and have a good blend of city and outdoor life. I also like country music bike riding and the big college scene too.

I have a Cousin who lives in Nashville and owns a jewelry store there. He does a lot of activities outdoors, but also lives inside of the city. Both cities have a good mix of age groups and outdoor activities so I'd need more to go on to recommend one over the other.

Max, I don't think you can go wrong with either place. BUT, if you would like to get out of your "comfort zone," go with Nashville. You are young.......try something different! Nashville (and TN in particular) is beautiful. It's a college town, too.....Vandy!

My friend's daughter (23ish) moved there recently and loves it!

If it's a "bust," you can always move back home.

Austin has a shortage of women in your age group, Nashville is much more balanced in that regard. Austin is a great place for outdoor activities, but so is Houston with its access to the gulf coast. If you can be bored in Houston with all that it has to offer, you will probably be bored anywhere. Tennesee would probably offer you the biggest change of scenary given the area is so much different from Texas.

Both cities could offer you either. If you're bored of Houston, I'd pick Nashville, as Austin is quite similar to Houston in many respects and Nashville would be a complete change of pace/scenery.

I'm a Native Houstonian and currently live in Austin. Get out there and see the world! Start with Nashville. You'll never know where you end up, and better said to have tried than denied.

Although you could find this in Austin and even Houston in certain neighborhoods (maybe you are in the wrong area of Houston)....

I'd agree with the other suggestions for Nashville.... you said you're looking for something very different and so you may find Austin to be too similar to Houston, it's only a few hours away afterall. Sounds like you want to try something totally new. Plus the country music, you will find more of that there.
