I remember seeing a sign for a drop off of Hazardous Waste this weekend, but I can't remember where (probably Lakeway). I have some old paint to get rid of. Does anyone know where the drop off is and what time?

The drop-offs are run but the local utility services, probably. Austin has (unless they moved it) a drop off that is off of East Ben White and I-35 somewhere (just south of BW somewhere). They do require that you show a DL with a COA address, I think.

Ecology Action MAY take some hazmat waste, but not sure. They have a place somewhere up on 620 north of 71 (on the East side of 620). You would have to call, though, to see exactly what they took.

I just dropped some old paint off at the Household Hazardous Waste facility place yesterday. Like Trainwreck said, it's just south of Ben White (off Todd lane) at 2514 Business Center Drive. They just asked for my ZIP code when I got there. Here's its info: http://www.ci.austin.tx.us/sws/hhw.htm

And here's another cool site from the City of Austin called "How do I dispose of...?" http://www.ci.austin.tx.us/sws/disposal_a.htm
