Any recommendations on bundling tv/internet/digital phone service? (Austin: home, neighborhood)

Well, we closed on Wednesday on our (at some point) retirement home and spent the past 3 days getting utilities set up, finding the nearest grocery, and discovering entire shopping areas well hidden behind beautiful greenspaces! Fun!

I searched this forum before posting this question but could not find an applicable thread, so here goes. Anyone have recommendations on bundling tv/internet/digital phone? We have tv/internet via Cox communications at our home in NOLA but phone is BellSouth (oops! once again AT&T -- more evidence that if you keep your clothes long enough they come back in style . . .)

Looks like Time Warner has most folks in our new neighborhood for tv, but next door neighbors did not have their services bundled and had AT&T for internet & phone. Did not have a reason why, just was what they knew about and were not, by their own admission, very internet savy. Any comments on Time Warner? Any thoughts about bundling these services?

Have no experience with digital telephone service especially and would appreciate any comments pro or con. Since DSL service in NOLA is not as fast as cable, we've avoided it. Any of you prefer DSL over cable in Austin?

We will be working remotely for a couple of years & will require stable connections in order to maintain access into our well protected work systems in NOLA, which disconnect at the slightest hint of connection instability (Cingular phone card in the laptop this past few days really a royal pain).

AT & T offers the quad pack bundle which seems to be worth it. Their TV is through Dish Network.Even if you don't go with their bundle package, their Elite DSL service is definitely worth the money @ $34.99, same speed as cable but definitely more reliable. As a long time customer, I beat that down to the same rate as their Pro DSL which is $24.99 with a 2 year contract. I won't bore you with the speeds they offer, over-rated in my opinion as a criteria for going with it. I had the Pro service for the past 2 years, and I had only one outage the entire time, which was more a case of distraction on my part, not checking the basics...ooops, and not really their fault. Go on...mention my name and get the same deal...

I've found Time Warner cable internet to be very reliable. Maybe a total of 2 less-than-one-hour outages in the 16 months I've used it (and I'm online all day). Time Warner cable is also excellent - love the TIVO style service for $10 a month. Their cable phone service has been just fine except for 20 minutes of being out one night which caused my alarm system to beep and annoy me.

In the age before cell phones it would have made me nervous to have a phone that didn't work when the power went out, but since I have the cell it's not much of an issue.

I have the Time Warner services bundled and it's going fine. No plans to change.
