Ive only been in Austin about for years, but have lived south side (Barton and Onion Creek). I got 60 day notice my roommate is leaving the state...long story short I'm having problems finding a place that I can swing that will be cool with my Blue Lacey (57 pounds but well trained). I'm looking at a place in Del Valle...and considering Kyle, Round Rock, etc...even though I love south, you do what you got to. This story is long. Bottom line:
Any info about any of these places and how dog friendly they are would be appreciated. Especially about where officially and unofficially it is acceptable for a well-trained, swimming fetching dog to play off leash. Presently looking at a place in Del Valle (ACC), near UT campus and Wells Branch.

Wells Branch does have an off leash dog area, but I don't know about apartments that allow dogs off leash. I don't think any of them do.
However, one apartment complex (the one I live in) does have some units with fenced in yards, I think these are about $950 a month, two bedroom, 2 story, townhouse layout types. But I don't think any of these are available right now.
Without a fenced yard, and outside of the dog run areas, I think the dog is always required to be on a leash.
