I was going to say Canberra too as well as the Southern Tablelands/Capital Country.

Stirling, Adelaide Hills (as well as Crafers, Hahndorf, etc.) The Adelaide Hills are ideal for growing deciduous trees like Maples because of the wet and mild climate (Stirling being the wettest place in SA). Many of these trees were imported from Europe to imitate England for the wealthy English migrants who lived there.

Canberra also flourishes in Autumn because of its cool oceanic climate

I grew up in Perth and we didn't really have proper seasons (i.e. a clear summer to autumn to winter transition), so I love anywhere with a bit of colour. Melbourne goes quite well too in Autumn

I have a lot of decidous trees in my garden so it looks great when Autumn comes along Melbourne goes quite well too in Autumn as do many other Victorian towns, this is Bright in the Alpine Shire

Nice photos, Shirley Eve.

Btw it feels like autumn right now, it is so cold tonight up here! (northern NSW coast).

They are gorgeous aren't they? I suppose Perth's climate is a little too hot for supporting such an array of deciduous trees as they've done elsewhere (SA, VIC, NSW). The more colour, the nicer Autumn. This was planted by the Ovens River in Victoria, aren't maples sensational?

I haven't been to Armidale in years, but the last time I went was in the middle of winter, and it was freezing (especially for this born and raised Perthite).

They are. I love the Aussie bush, but I'd love to go to New England or Japan during the autumn.

Wow that's beautiful! New Zealand is great in autumn too. New England is fantastic, it's unbelievably beautiful in the Fall, hands down one the best places to be in Autumn. I'd love to see more deciduous trees planted here in Oz, because that kind of colour is just so striking. Thanks for the photos.
