I didn't like the design, it looked too heavy for only one wheel in the front.
I think BMW had a 3 wheel car, Steve Urkel on "Family Matters" drove one. I used to see one once in a while on a college campus about 20 years ago.

I see em all around here at car shows. It was called the Isetta. BUT the single wheel was in the back,. making it much more stable
with modren saftey standards and crash protectetion mandates you will never see a production car that size again.
but heck if they sold them for $3-$4K they would be fun to beat on and be great for short trips

There was a time I really wanted one of those little three-wheel trucks the Post Office used to use. That or the old Jeeps (which I used to drive when I had a summer job as a carrier). I loved driving around with the door slid open.

The Isetta was designed and built in Italy for several years. The design was then built by BMW. I don't like getting into the vehicle through the front.
There are HUNDREDS of three wheelers. And most of them can be imported and licensed in the US as they are deemed to be motorcycles due to the size of the engine.
The exception to that was a few late run Isettas built in the UK for the UK market, where 3 wheelers got taxed less, so a short run of 3 wheel Isettas were created.
the UK ended up getting a lot of 3 wheel "cars" becaeu of that tax situation, not just the special Isettas and Reliants, but Morgans and others.
