What would a fuel additive have to do with your oil?

Question Oops ??

If, by mistake, you put the Techron in the engine crankcase , instead of in the fuel tank, then yes, get an oil change ASAP

No way unless you put it in the crank.

For me, I change the oil twice a year (I run synthetic) and use a bottle of Techron on my next fill up after the oil change.

Yeah, I see merit to it. There is always some blow by, and sediments may get into oil. Personally, I have never worried about it, and used fuel system cleaners many times on various cars and with no adverse effects, oil change or not.
Have a better one for you.
Before planned oil change, pour can of Seafoam into oil. Yes, into oil, as in crankcase. Drive for about 500 miles (safe) and then do your oil change.

PS to be followed by a bunch of know nothing posts dissing Seafoam.

Seafoam is good stuff!

Whenever I've bought a used car, I've done the method you described above but didn't drive it, I let it sit and run for about 20 minutes.

I've used it in gas tanks before as well.

Never done the brake booster thing that a lot of people have done, though.

To each his own, but if you every purchased a tank full of the following gasoline you got Techron as an additive anyway.

Techron is an additive in all gas at Chevron,Texaco and Caltex stations.

FWIW I've added Techron to the gas on my Z06 several times and never changed the oil other than the normal intervals with no ill effects so far. Techron is recommended for Corvettes with the fuel pump internal to the gas tank. It keeps them from sticking and needing premature replacement.
