Why is it that we have TONS of different vehicles out there and I can't find a good equivalent replacement for my 2002 For Explorer (4 door)?

The new Explorer? Ugly as sin and the back/cargo doesn't seem as roomy. Lost that good, strong-stanced SUV look.

Tahoe? Too big. Equinox? Too small. Jeeps? Fall apart if you look at them wrong.

It seems like most cars are either too small or too big...what happened to that in-between size?

The only car I have seen that has a nice body style and approximately the same amount of room is the Lexus GX...which is TWICE THE COST. Not really want I want to spend for a second, less often used car.

Frustrating.

Have you checked the GMC Acadia/Chevy Traverse? It's seems most people do not want a body on frame SUV any more. That's part of the reason I love my Traiblazer, it's the absolute perfect sized SUV for me

Maybe a Nissan Pathfinder? I think '12 will be the last year for the truck based platform though.

Have a look at the new 4-Runner. It's still a good old body on frame SUV that is meant to be an SUV and not a minivan with large tires.

That's an easy one.
The direct replacement for the past models of Explorer is the Expedition.
Not the Explorer, silly. That's a crossover.

Yeah I know it's more expensive than the exploder.

They did that on purpose. Want an SUV that looks like an SUV? Then pay up.

The Expedition is much larger than the Explorer. The Explorer was based on the Ranger, the Expedition is based on the F-150.

It's a good thought. I looked at the 4 Runner when my wife needed a new car and it was so plastic and cheap-looking on the inside. We wound up with the Caddy SRX for her instead. That was in 2010. Maybe the new 4 Runner is different? The back part was not as big as my Explorer. Is the new one bigger?

The Expedition is too big. Might as well get a Tahoe. Better looking, too. I hate what Ford has done with the grills of their cars. Fugly.

The Xterra is another option. I forgot about that one.

Ranger?

What ranger?

Like I said, unless you want that crossover looking thing (which might be perfectly allright... I know they're trying to get the cops to use them) it's the expedition or nothing at all. And by the way, it's probably larger than the old explorer but it's not as big as it used to be either. I can't even tell the difference between them now.
