Anyone here know of any good driving roads with lots of twist and turns? Post your known roads here and also share them with BBCs Top Gear. I was on one road back in 1994 somewhere between Tennessee and Virginia up in the mountains. It was a state highway. Don't ask me which one because I had gotten lost and somehow ended up on that road. Had a 4 speed manual Cavalier coupe and I had a blast. Would have enjoyed it more if I had a better car but I couldn't afford much with child support on an enlisted E-4 salary.

Try any of the roads in southeastern Ohio, east of I-77 and south of I-76. Lovely paved roads, nice and twisty.

Here's one example:
https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=M...-20.49,74.97,0

For a birdseye of the route, click the tiny box [3D>] just below where it says "1 hour 45 minutes". Might have to click it 2 oe 3 times to get it to take. A wonderful driving feature of google maps.

We all know Tail of the Dragon (US 29 on the TN/NC border) is gonna get thrown out in any thread like this, so I might as well be the one to do it.

This is a nice ride in VA. Not crowded like the Tail of the Dragon and you can drive it fast if you have the good handling car or bike.

US Route 501, Virginia

If you can get a clean shot at it, Highway 1 between Monterey and Cambria is epic not only for the road but for the views.

To add/
If you are in the area of the Dragon also consider
Wayah Bald rd.
Cherohala Skyway.
Rt 28 from Franklin north to the Cross Roads of Time intersection.
Blue ridge parkway from Cherokee to Fancy Gap/I-77.
For those unfamiliar with the Dragon it goes like this

As jambo101 already suggested, there is the Blue Ridge Parkway in the Appalachians. The speed limit is 45 I think. It's a scenic highway and very beautiful.

It's been a long time, but I seem to remember US 74 in western North Carolina being very scenic, especially in the fall, with lots of hairpin turns when you get into the mountains.

I love that up there as well Mike. I also love the drive from Point Mugu (Just south of Oxnard) down to Santa Monica going thru Malibu.
