Do I need silicone sealant for my headlight bulb replacement? (gasket, replace)

One of my headlight bulbs burned out and I noticed some condensation in there. The condensation is now gone but sometimes it comes back if its snowy and the snow melts on my car. I checked the rubber gasket on the back of the headlight and it is in fine condition. I bought a replacement bulb, should I try putting some silicone sealant on the rubber gasket after I replace the bulb? Would this help? I'm wondering if its just so cold out that the gasket has lost some of its malleability.

It's most likley the gasket around the lenes where it connects to the housing. Can't replace that or seperate it. If it's bothering you, you'll be replacing the whole headlight.. Do not put anything on the back of the bulb.. Bulb gasket isn't the problem unless the rubber O-ring is torn on old bulb..

No, its condensation probably from a hair- line crack, drilled a many hole in the bottom to let as much as 2" of water out of some, it will shine just the same.

DO NOT TOUCH BULB WITH BARE HANDS!!!!

In lens condensation is leaking gasket. They can be repaired, but it takes skilled hands and too much labor. You can toss some silica gel bids inside the lense housing for now, but lens replacement is coming at you fast. I used to drill holes in housing, but it does not work on new cars anymore.

Go to a junkyard or ebay to find a new/used one. Aftermarket is fine if not a $$$$ car.
