I've got a question: Which city in the USA has the most vibrant culture? I'm aware of a few cities that have a big car scene, but just to be clear, I want to know what city you think has the MOST car culture. I'm a car guy so living in a city with a good car scene as a necessity for me. Keep in mind that this is not only street racing, but includes car meets/shows. thanks in advance.

Preferably a large city, but I'm open to a city of any size.

L.A., San Diego and Phoenix are all very car centric. It's all about image and you are what you drive. Lots of Escalades, BMW's and Mercedes (all in black of course).

In contrast, Denver seemed very un-car centric when I lived there. Everyone drove 4wheel drive pickups, AWD Subarus or Honda/Toyota compact SUV's. It was a very non image oriented city. Although I've never lived there, Salt Lake City seems similar to Denver in that regard when I go visit.

Most big cities have car culture, to a point. You may have to find it. It also depends what kind of cars you are into. Some areas of the country are bigger into american, and some are more into imports. (like hot rods arent big in miami, but big in daytona, ricers are kinda everywhere, lowriders are big in Ca and kinda everywhere to a point). Some parts of the country with good weather you get to enjoy your toy/hobby car (fla!) and some they get packed away for the winter, which i couldnt stand. I think its kinda the given that LA/San Diego has the biggest car culture around. Miami has a good amount as well.

San Diego area has a huge car culture. We can literally hit a carshow/ meet and greet every day of the week. And this covers a wide spectrum of cars...muscle/ exotic/ imports. Everything from car projects in progress to pristine exotics. Car nirvana!

LA and Chicago are great, although Chicago's scene has changed a lot over the last decade. There are some good car cities in TX and FL, too.

Can't mention car culture without Detroit and its suburbs.

Definately So CAL has a car addiction.

REALLY depends on your taste / style / brand. Bristol, TN is in yet 'another' class.

I'll stick with Saloon's-ville, WY. Pickup trucks with Gun Racks and a dog sleeping in the back on top of a 200 gallon fuel tank.

YMMV

But 'street-racing', there MUST be a queen somewhere... I really prefer the 'rolling stock' non-show room.

Last weekend we had a 'cruz-the-gut' in small townsville, We_t WA, and had over 1200 cars OPERATIONAL and driving main street, The cops stopped the tire smoking a couple yrs back... that is really too bad. We have a HUGE crop of muscle cars itching to get out in the summer. For street machines, I think we had a great representation. Plenty of Mopar 6 paks and hemis, as well as the usual rods, uniques, homebuilt, vintage sportscars ... and a whole herd of GM small and large block. luv seeing the big block 67 - 69 Camaros and El Caminos come out of hiding (bone stock). plenty of 55-60 vettes, and the Hearse and Ambulances too.
