Last week car would crank but woudn't start I tried again 5 minutes later it started. So for the past week it's been starting again but today it wouldn't start again and when it does that the check engine light goes on but when i take out the gas cap and put it back in the check engine light turns off. So i just took it to mechanic he found nothing wrong hmm?
Why that has nothing to do with it's my mom's year(2005) Make(Mercedes-benz) model(e320). Yeah we took it to mechanic and he said he found nothing wrong like battery he checked and all that hmm?
Gas system is a 'sealed' system. If the check engine light is going on it COULD have something to do with the system vapor locking or otherwise having a 'circulation' problem. That is why it starts sometimes, and other times it won't start--it MIGHT be starved for fuel.
Battery likely has nothing to do with it. Your 'mechanic' probably didn't have a clue as to what he was doing, being that it is a ferin car and all.
Get the code from the check engine light (look it up on the internet--how to get it, and what it means), and then proceed accordingly.
Probably the best/only course of action is the Benz dealer. Complicated cars, unique systems, and in all likelihood, a significant repair bill coming.

I suggest spending less time playing 'Call of Duty' and more time learning how to craft forum questions that will result in informative responses, as well as possibly a grammar lesson.
