Now I need a new car. Gonna get something used. It is not in my budget, and this time I think I am getting an import.
I had a Dodge Stratus 2000 model year. The man said I skipped some timing, blew my head gasket, and the cylenders filled with water.
Any suggestions? Oh, I had about 120k miles on the car.
I just want something used, dont mind if it is around the same model year, whatever, like I said, this wasn't in my budget. I have 2 kids, and my son is nearly 6 feet tall. He needs leg room.

HELP!
4 cyl or V6 Stratus?
Four banger you may get lucky with just a new head gasket
V6; I agree........buy something else like a 4 cylinder Toyota Camry or similar.
Robyn, I still think you can get this fixed. If the cylinders filled with water, so what? Drain the water out and replace the head gasket. The water damage is not going to be bad unless it was over a long period of time. ArizonaBear, thanks for that good advice..
When a head gasket fails, there is usually a reason why. The moist common cause is usually overheating, often as a result of a coolant leak, or a thermostat or fan failure.

I agree.......just that the 2.0L (Neon) and 2.4L (Cloud Cars) Fours had a flaw in their heard gaskets through at least 1998.
When you go looking keep in mind the Nissan Stanza. It is a smaller car, but I'm 6'-2" and ours fit me. We had a 1990 Stanza and it was one of the best cars we ever owned. If my wife wouldn't have ended up on the road a lot for work we would have kept it. I insisted she get a car with side air bags. Bought her a 2003 Maxima. I drive a 1995 Maxima. We have been very pleased with the quality and lack of required maintenance with them all.
It would be cool if you can actually fix yours - that is if it's worth the money to fix. Been through that before!
Keep in mind if you do repair the engine, to be sure they flush the oil system and get all the anitfreeze out of the oil side. (may of leaked past the rings into the crank case).
Antifreeze is not compatable with oil and parts that need lubricated.
