Some people play the "need card" to reverse justify their preferences. I've never felt the desire to really show people I've made a good choice based on merits/utility.

My car history has been I4->V8->V6 with increasing power. I've always had more power, more features, more car than I need.

My G37 has useless backseats, a barely adequate trunk, mediocre gas mileage, and an engine with high NVH. It has two doors; less convenient than a comparable sedan. And I pay extra for the privilege to boot.

In summary: cramped, noisy, expensive, and faster than I should be going. And just about every time I sit down in it, a smile forms that not even the 405 fwy can eliminate. Hell yes, let's drive.

Buddy of mine gets that same grin from his big truck. Doesn't need it, just likes it. I don't share his preference, but I understand it.

Because there was no option for an I4 on my Bentley.

I can make my Avalon show 60mpg by hitting the mpg reset while on the highway.

Most four bangers today are as powerful as V8's from the 70's and 80's. Sad to say, but my Sonata can nearly outrun my '87 Trans Am GTA.

The GTA is a 14 second car and if allowed to fall into disrepair can be beat by a lawnmower.

A lawnmower engine just doesn't cut it. V8's are great and there's just no substitute for me.

Huh, my mpg computer doesn't have that feature.

Why would anyone need that feature anyway, just knowing your mpg should be good enough...

(cough cough)

Sometimes the mileage just doesn't matter, but the power DOES.
