I can't believe you took your car to Wal Mart for any type of mechanical service....

I wouldn't trust them putting air in a tire.

THERE are literally tons of horror stories of Wal Mart oil jockey's not replacing drain plugs and ruining engines.

It's going to be the same at a tire shop too. Tire shops have the same people.

Walmart is no better or worse than a chain tire store or a jiffy lube.

I'm lucky that a local walmart has decent technicians that care about what they do. I bring my tires there to be balanced.

It looks like the left side of the tire bead did not pop out fully to the rim when the tire was installed. If so, the tire needs to be broken down on the sticking side, the edges lubricated with soap, then aired back up.

I think that's just a trick of shadow that makes it look that way, as the rim protector line is even all the way around.

Hi, trying to get some more miles out of my 99 Camry and went to a local shop and got new tires. The tire size is correct but it looks as if the tires aren't sitting flush with the rim. Could this be the gap that is considered the "rim protector" as mentioned above?

Can you confirm it's 195/70/14? It looks like you have hubcaps so they're going to stick out a bit farther, giving the illusion of a tire that's too small.
