I noticed a 996 911 turbo speeding in left lane ahead of me on the freeway. I caught up to him and followed for miles. It was fun, more because a turbo is gonna be my next car. I downshift around Prius's, my wife knows exactly what I'm doing now.

No one said they were downshifting a Prius. Not sure why you mentioned that.

But the answer to the op's question, not really. I drive the way I drive, unless I am in my neighborhood, when I am driving 5 to 10 under the speed limit.
I downshift my car when I'm driving next to a Prius. Quite the insult you threw at me thinking I own one!!

Back in the day every stop light had a drag strip in front of it if the car next to me looked willing. Nobody is doing that now. People are not into cars anymore. Just transportation.

Downshifting around a Prius?
Makes your engine noisy? Makes you waste gasoline? Haha, THAT'LL show the Prius who owns the road.

I have to agree about the 18 Wheelers and Buses. These are large vehicles and they have large blind spots. Also, I understand that they do not have the maneuverability or stopping power of a small car.

Oh if you have seen some of these NYC taxis... you would probably agree with taxis as well
