And apparently you dont know jack squat about either the Lancer or the STi. They eat the GTO and new G8s lunch, with 1/2 the engine, and in all weather conditions. Youve been called out by heydade below, my bet is that you wont even show up or take a challenge, typical of the domestic car crowd. But dont fret, Id hate to lose to a car that has less than 1/2 my engine too.

Could someone post a stock Lancer's 1/4 mile times please.

Preferable by a magazine and NOT a private person, people often lie about whether or not their own car is stock.

Sorry homes. The GTO certainly has the advantage at the top end, but Evo and the STi are both a couple ticks faster than the GTO -- even the 6.0 -- in the 0-60 and 1/4, and both would eat it alive on a road course.

From a quick search,it appears the 2006 Lancer does the 1/4 mile in 13.3 seconds.

From the same source, the 2005 GTO did it in....13.3 seconds.

What is kind of funny is a 2001 Corvette is faster than both-13.1.

As to 0-60 times...

2006 Lancer- 4.5
2005 GTO- 4.8
2001 Corvette- 4.8

The latest model does it in 13.8 according to Car and Driver. Unfortunately, the incoming model is a little heavier and slower than the outgoing model, which fired off a 1/4 in 13.5 according to this article.

Funny that the Lancer gets just a little better fuel economy than the GTO...

2006 Lancer city- 18 mpg, highway- 26 mpg
2006 GTO city- 15mpg, highway- 23 mpg.

And the 2001 Corvette gets 16 mpg city and 24 mpg highway...

Well, the Vette has more hp, and is more aerodynamic, hence the quicker times. And it also costs quite a bit more. However, the Lancer will smoke a Vette in the rain, dirt, etc too.

Take note I was comparing a 2001 corvette....which is easily bought for $22,000.

If I was to compare equal years then that would mean a 2006 model...

Lets see:
18 city/28 highway
0-60mph 4.2 seconds.
1/4 mile 12.7 seconds.

Now from what I have found the Lancer EVO was about $35,000 new....

So a person would have an extra $13,000 to upgrad the 2001 corvette for the cost of the Lancer.
