On my phone I have my entire iTunes collection, including a playlist called Drivin' that has 24 hours of continuous music. Used it to good effect on the recent trip from Baltimore to St. Petersburg, Florida. 17 hours and never heard the same song twice.
What do you do? Music, audio books, punch buggy, chatting on phone, etc.?
Fastest time killer for me is chatting on the phone. Hours and miles can fly by.
Oh, yeah. Your life may fly by, too.
As a retired trucker I can not count the number of smashed cars and even bodies I have seen as a result of that advice.
My advice is to drive the car. If you find that too boring, then let someone else do it.
I recently had a 12 hr drive and about 10 hours of it was my favorite podcast that I had been saving up on. My next choice would be audio books and my music collection of 10s of thousands of songs. With the podcasts and books, sometimes the long drives are not long enough I get into them that much.
If in traffic, XM or songs from my SD cards loaded into the vehicle's radio. If on an interstate in the middle of nowhere (I80 through NV is a great example) I might get on the Onstar phone and talk, if service is available.
And for the truckers who always say this is SO bad. Please explain why almost every trucker I pass has a phone in his ear, and in the days before great cell service, were chatting on the CB to any moron who would listen.

Your comment assumes that because some people cannot drive and talk on the phone at the same time successfully, that all people cannot (including me). That is erroneous.
Since you gave me some unsolicited advice, I have some for you. Talk a walk outside and let some of your life fly by before you give yourself a coronary.

I like to take naps. With intelligent cruise control and lane assist I turn it on and car is basically autonomous
