So I was here before asking about options on a few vehicles to replace my (baby) 2004 RX330 bought new December 2003. I really need more space. So I was looking at the GX460, I like that the back is not sloped, so it gives more height in the trunk area. Third row is nice but I won't need it daily at this point. My issue is the trunk, with kids, having an automatic tailgate that flips up is nice especially in inclement weather. I was hoping they woukd have redesigned the GX for 2017 to look like the new LX but no such luck...Ithink they may stop carrying it soon in the U.S. market. Anyway, I need some ideas on comparable vehicles in terms of reliability, safety, and fit and finish of the interior. I don't want a money suck with lots of problems after the warranty period ends. My RX has been problem free for almost 13 years so I am spoiled. Any ideas? Thanks.
Have you looked at the Infiniti QX60? The foot-activated liftgate is pretty slick.
There's also the Acura MDX, of course.
There are the non-luxury versions of both (Nissan Pathfinder and Honda Pilot) as well, which at the top trim levels are fine vehicles in their own right.
Hmm never looked at the Infiniti QX60, I will have to check that one put. The Acura seems like a nice enough vehicle but the interior just does not seem to justify the price tag. It seems like pickings are slim when you factor in long term reliability. Thank you!
