Bell Performance also makes additives for diesel engines, home heating oil burners, engine oil additives, quite a lot.

For anyone who owns a shop and depends on customer word of mouth to keep the doors open, recommending a product like MMO could be hazardous to business. Imagine if one person used it per Don's recommendation and blew their engine? They're immediately going to blame it on him and his shop will garner a poor reputation for it regardless of whether MMO had anything to do with it or not.

Any time there are "miracle" products available it's best to allow a consumer to decide for themselves and remain neutral. On the flipside of that a lot of owners may recommend that a consumer avoid a certain product if they have seen damage due to it, as that is safer than having someone dump some product into their engine but rarely does a good shop recommend that a consumer "experiment" with products. It's just bad practice.

One of the Material Safety Data Sheets that I looked at said MMO contained:
60 to 100% Hydrotreated Heavy Naphthenic Petroleum Distillates (naphtha)
10 to 30% Tricresyl Phosphate (detergent)
.1 to 1.0% Ortho Dichlorobenzene (chlorinated benzene)
Less than .1% Para Dichlorobenzene (another form of chlorinated benzene)

Let's see...
Seems to me Phosphate detergents are banned in the United States. If so, you are putting an illegal detergent in your engine, along with Naphtha and gasoline (benzene).

It would perhaps be better to make your own additive:

Homebrew Sea Foam (SeaFoam) Motor Treatment Recipe
The phosphates that are banned are in clothes washing detergent, not oil/fuel detergents, IIRC.
