No. Only you. I never said anyone banned power plants. I said we banned fracking because PA and OH have a number of natural gas power plants being built according to your link and they allow fracking. Where as my state does not allow fracking.

OK, so GM said "electric".
Then it will become a law, for the "best of the children". Clean air and such.
then it will all become autonomous. Of course, for the best of the drivers and pedestrians.
Then it will become a law. For the best of the children
Fret all you want to, younger of you here will see it come.

Most seem to be missing the point. In the future world where vehicles are all electric, there will be an entirely different infrastructure to support it. Obviously, today, many people can't use an electric car as their only vehicle with the existing infrastructure and batter capacity/charge time. I'm sure at some point people said they would never give up their horses for a gasoline car, because where would they buy gasoline if they needed it?

It's also highly unlikely (in the US) that anyone would be forced to not use their existing cars. Those will expire over time, as they get old, and the infrastructure is less and less to support them. For classics and the last holdouts, it is likely there will be a market for gasoline for a long time after new cars are all electric as things like boats, generators, and other items will probably not convert for a much longer time (if ever).

You can't think about the future in terms of today. This is 25 years from now. Things will be different. 25 years ago the first text message (computer to phone) was sent, there was none before that. There were no smart phones, High definition TV had not been broadcasted yet, etc. It will be different, and despite your protests now, we'll all be along for the ride.

Telsla reported late Monday that it had fallen well short of production goals for the third quarter and shares in the electric car maker were under pressure. So what happened they can’t even make the same amount of cars that GM can.

General Motors is promising two new electric vehicles on Chevrolet Bolt underpinnings in the next 1 ½ years and more than 20 electric or hydrogen fuel cell vehicles by 2023.

The company also pledged to start producing hydrogen fuel cell vehicles for commercial or military use in 2020, and to convert its entire model lineup to zero-emissions in the future.

The two new electric vehicles likely will be SUVs or maybe a sportier car designed to compete with Tesla's upcoming Model 3.

The company says most of the new vehicles will be based on a new electric architecture with a longer range than the Bolt's 238 miles.

"General Motors believes in an all-electric future," said Mark Reuss, General Motors executive vice president of Product Development, Purchasing and Supply Chain. "Although that future won't happen overnight, GM is committed to driving increased usage and acceptance of electric vehicles through no-compromise solutions that meet our customers' needs."

GM made the announcements Monday at its technical center in the Detroit suburb of Warren. Executives offered few specifics on the new vehicles.

'Here are two facts that defy logic: By the end of the year, electric-car maker Tesla Inc. will have burned through more than $10 billion without ever having made 10 cents. Yet companies around the world are lining up to compete with it.'

Tesla business model... 'If Mercedes-Benz or any other industry leader had an opportunity to sell cars at a loss they could sell a lot more'.

“Companies are committed to electric cars, but there is little evidence that there is a lot of consumer demand for it,” said Kevin Tynan, senior analyst with Bloomberg Intelligence.

That was based on one month of manufacturing the Model 3. Musk set some pretty unrealistic manufacturing goals and they weren't able to meet them. One month does not make a trend.
