Hi all,

Does anyone have experience with "Ethos Group" extended warranty?

The reason I ask is because I purchased this extended warranty from my dealership...Now I'm having an issue with the car, but I REALLY don't care for the service department at said dealership...I've brought the car back a couple of times and every time they either cant replicate the issue, say its one thing and it isn't, say "we fixed it" or one time I also spent over $300 to replace a broken splash shield, which was absurd.

Now I went to get an oil change the other day and the guy said "All set, sir. Everything looks great, but you know you got a broken splash shield right?"

Anyways, I called Ethos Group and asked if I specifically HAD to take it back to the dealership I bought the car from...The guy didn't give me a straight answer and neither does the contract. He just said "The contract states if you are within a 50 mile radius it should be returned to issuing dealership"

Should be, but does it have to be...? Please see attached image, but it states, "In the case of a mechanical breakdown....

If its within a 50 mile radius of the issuing dealership it should be returned to the Issuing dealership, If you are beyond a 50 mile radius, OR the vehicle is being repaired by a facility other than the Issuing Dealership, ..."

???Don't know really know where to go from here...

Hi all,

Well, I was right!! I just called Ethos Group and just said "It says if I want to bring my car to a different dealership to call the administrator" they said "Ok, sir, you can take the car to a dealership of your choice"

So, I just called a different dealership and have an appointment set up for Monday...It makes me nervous though, like it wont be covered or whatever. Ethos said to have the dealership call them...Theyre saying they diagnose the car FIRST, THEN call...makes me nervous.

That's standard, they need to know the diagnosis before they can determine if it's covered. I would be surprised if a splash shield is covered though.

No 3rd party warranties!!
I have a GM car, so I have an Ally (former GMAC) extended warranty.
I've dealt with my Cadillac dealer for years and they're first rate, so that's where I bought it.
