Hello all, I am needing to find a reliable used car that has ample cabin space for a larger man. I am not so tall as round unfortunately, but headspace still matters (no Chrysler 200s). I currently drive a 2006 Impala that feels just right, but at almost 200k miles and a bad tranny it is time to replace. I'm hoping to find a used car that can fit a man of my size, with less than 100k miles, and preferably has a rearview camera. My budget is tops $12,500, but let's say $12,000 to be safe. Does anyone have any suggestions on reliable cars that may fall into this category? I'd also prefer not to go older than 2012 if possible.

Thanks all!

Rear view camera can be added to any car at low cost. Don't make that a deal breaker.

I have one name for you. Lincoln Towncar.

Large, VERY reliable and safe. As in - very. You can find low mileage single owner ones for way less than your budget. You will have old school comfort and safety. Referring to 2000-2005 ones. Upgrade stereo for hands free and streaming, enjoy.

Get a Crown Victoria. That’s a more base vehicle as pd some were former cop cars

If you want more luxury a Grand Marquis or you want more luxury Lincoln Town Car. Look for a Cartier edition.

Seriously it doesn’t get better than the Panther platform for it boat cruise feeling in a car. I think 2011 was the last year so look for those. Although I just picked up a one owner 2003 Crown Vic for $2000 bucks with 67,000 miles. With the only damage being the old person ding on the front bumper the car is in great shape. It’s literally little old lady from Pasadena car. Love the cushy ride.

Start looking at retirement homes. That’s where you’ll find low mile cars. To me the tear isn’t as important as mileage and even that sent as important as maintenance records

think panthers. the crown vic/grand marquis/lincoln towncar are very comfortable, and very reliable. hecl cab companies would buy used police crown vics, service them, and drive them for another 200k miles. you cant beat that kind of reliability.

as for comfort, as big as i am, 6'-1" 350lbs, i sometimes feel a little lost in my 05 grand marquis.

I have Grand Marquis. No way you get lost in it. Bench seat in the front will kill large person with the seat belt buckle cutting into buttock. Air suspension leaks out, so it needs to be replaced with springs (what i do have).

Lincoln is whole different level of comfort, plus much more powerful power train.

Another suggestion will be Lincoln MarkVIII, if you can still find them in low miles and single owner. 300hp speaks too.
Also, there are very reliable Buicks - Le Sabre ( I really wanted that one, 32mpg on FWY) or, supercharged Riviera.

I'd also consider Park Avenue. What a nice car!

All of those are superbly comfortable - if knees are good to get that low.
Otherwise, OP, you are destined into Tahoe/Yukon. Not that they are that much comfy and sitting is more like in a chair, than lounging, but at least they are spacious inside - and higher seated.

Agreed. Vans are so unappreciated.

I feel like I'd have to get one of the older ones with 100k+ in my price range. I wish I had a little more, 15,000 would probably get a 2015 with 70k miles.

Thanks all for the suggestions. I have checked out the Lincolns, and Buicks too though the Verano seems too small, and Cadillac, though I have no idea how big the Caddy models are.
