meguiars ceramic spray wax (car, application)

i applied and gave it a wipe like direction said for initial applications. it has hydrophobic properties and when i sprayed with water after applying , the water seems to roll off and dried off quick after a 5 minute drive.. a few days later though i rinsed my car with water only and the water forms droplets and seems to stick ot my car . Is this supposed ot happen? did i apply it incorrectly?
