A G-Wagen or Jeep Wrangler is not a traditional SUV??
FYI... that Lada is a blatant G-Wagen knockoff!

SUV is in the eye of the beholder. I had 3 in succession that did everything I wanted including towing trailers coast to coast, corner to corner, plus a couple of 1000 mile trips down into Mexico.

Some folks would say they were not real SUVs because they were 2 wheel drive. Like I said they did the job.

I see some older model Lada Niva 4x4 on the road here in the eastern part of Germany. Lada quit selling vehicles in Germany a few years ago.

Suzuki sells lots of Jimny compact 4x4 with a 1.5L gas engine. It is a similar size to the Lada Niva. Anytime you are in a rural area, especially a hilly rural area, Jimny are even more common.

A truck in the SUV form factor is an SUV, doesn't matter if it's 2wd or 4wd.

"FYI... that Lada is a blatant G-Wagen knockoff!"

believe me - there are NO similarities between a Niva and a G-Class. They are both totaly different from each other.

btw. - the niva entered the market in 1977, the G-Modell in 1979 :-)

I own a Niva :-)

And I would t really even say the Niva is really meant as an SUV. More like a Soviet answer to a Jeep CJ, the farmer’s friend. I say that even though a Niva is on my bucket list. They’re just freaking cool and weird.

I would agree with this.

It is no longer called a truck when it becomes an SUV.

My Blazer was S-10 based; but it was still a Blazer. For a long time, an S10 Blazer. But you don't call an Explorer a Ranger.

But the big question, can a Niva fit inside a G wagen
