Actually, this is my uncles car, but I am trying to sell it for him.

Photos - February of 2008... as you can see, the windows and roofline in this Buick are identical... same car, just the Buick version of the Pontiac that is listed here for $226,000!

(PARDON THE MESS IN THE PHOTOS... I WAS CLEANING/ORGANIZING THAT DAY!)
1962 Buick Skylark 2dr hardtop

If anything, this Pontiac looks like a 2dr sedan, rather than a 2dr hardtop (no post when the windows are rolled down). Generally, 2dr hardtop cars bring more money, but there is something obviously special about that Pontiac. ???
What year is that LS400 in the background?

Its a 1991, with 216K miles... still runs like a new car.

I gave this car to my mother a couple of weeks ago, when I bought a 1988 Mercedes....

LOL that was the same year AND color we had... we sold it for 6k with 190k on the clock... yes they run really good, they guzzle gas pretty good though too! And everything was expensive as hell to replace, right down to the $70 plastic seat tilting knob.

Thats cool... yours did not happen to be in Atlanta did it? I bought it from a guy in Atlanta. This is my 2nd LS400, the last one was a ugly maroon 1990. I have got good mileage with both of them though... I get 21 mpg in city driving with this white one... I think I got 19 mpg with my maroon one, but it had 260K miles!

Yes, they are costly to maintain. This one is actually due for engine mounts and mounts alone are $180 wholesale! I know a girl whose dad is a tech for Lexus that will do it at his home for $150, which beats the dealers $600 quote! Other than that no problems, but the PS pump is starting to leak... very common problems on these early LS400s as you may already know.

As far as the tilt knob on the seat, have not had to deal with that one yet.

from looking at the bid history ; it looks like the seller signed up and had many different accounts and bidded his own auction up. It doesn't look like anyone actually won the car. If you look at the bidding history you'll see that all the bidders names are all numbers. Alot of scammers do that on ebay. Thats one of the reasons i don't buy things there anymore. Neet car though, had no idea they were the fastest car in 63, i'll have to look into that, pretty interesting.

Default It wasn't just any old '63 Tempest.

It has a history. Someone probably knew exactly what they were bidding on.

"The car's plexiglass windows, unusual suspension setup and a dash plate bearing the name of a racetrack tipped the owner to its racing history. But what he didn't know is that the car is one of only six 1963 Pontiac LeMans Tempest Super Duty coupes ever made."

eBay Find of the Day: 1963 LeMans Tempest sells for $226,521 - Autoblog

According to a poster at another web site I frequent "These 6 cars (as well as 6 station wagons) started out as 326 (all had 326 emblems on them) "rope drive" trans-axle cars (trivia: trans axle was based on Corvair design) but got 421SD engines with 4-speed and live rear axle. Instant 11 second factory car.

Only 3 Tempests and 1 station wagon are known of today. Only the station wagon still retains it's original drive train
."

Here's one in better condition. And probably worth more than some 401Ks.

I love it when someone tries to sell what they think is junk and then find out they have a collector's item. Priceless. Welcome to America!

???

Where do you see this? All of the bidders have ample ratings except for 2 or 3.
