Yesterday's news announced that Toyota sales for March '10 were 40% ahead of March '09. Somebody likes Toyotas.
Kinda figure Toyota would pull through this recall. but I thought it would take a while, then I heard people at work talking about Toyota, not about the recall, but about the great deal they just got on a new Toyota many trading domestics(suv's) for corrola's and camry's. Hey why not, chances are good you'll go 150 to 200,000 miles w/out any problem's, none.
Interesting article on the popular trend away from Toyota and to an automaker that arguably has product that is better in every way than the Toyota alternative.
The question for ya'll is, would you buy a Ford over a Toyota? As a former Ford or Toyota owner? Does anyone not think that the Ford product lineup is simply better than Toyota's anymore, regardless any reliability issues?
And yet, according to reports, sales are up. Hmmmm
No Toyotas in this family. I'll stay loyal to Ford. Great vehicles at competitive prices.
Maybe I will go back to Ford after I forget the twelve blown transmissions in my company fleet of 1996-1998 Tauruses and the blown transmission in my own Mercury Topaz.
While my brother will remind me that Ford offered some of the replacement costs of the replacement of the mediocre transmissions (after hours of negotiation with various zone managers), I have to remember that none of the GM or Toyota vehicles blew a transmission during the same period.

I think I can honestly say I have never had an issue with a GM transmission. Dodge probably ranks up there when it comes to terrible transmissions but Ford seems to be ok. Granted the E4OD wasn't the greatest in the early days. My Mom though had a tranny blow at 30,000 miles in her Camry. So it's a crap shoot I guess.

I have never had a problem with a GM transmissions either.
The vehicles that I have had the MOST transmission problems was the disposable transmissions on the 1996-2000 Ford Taurus and Windstars as well as the Dodge/Chrysler minivans.
I have owned both. Toyota is WAY ahead of Ford in EVERY SINGLE POSSIBLE CATEGORY. Anyone who ever had one knows it's true.
What's next Bloomburg GM is better than Honda? ! LOL !!!!
