Agree. Plane looks good.

He really should sell it, but hey that's not for me to decide for him.

Yep. I don't see the big deal. No different than a boat, IMO.

I think I read that the boat on a trailer has a license from the DMV which an airplane does not. But still I agree why do his neighbors care?

A: The trailer has a license/tag to allow use on the roads.
B: The boat probably has a license too.
C: The plane has a federal (FAA) registration and airworthiness certificate (presumably)

Okay it would help if I read the article first.

So apparently the plane is not airworthy. That makes it the equivalent of a car that can't be licensed for the road. Unless there's some sort of ordinance or HOA rule that says homeowners aren't allowed to keep "junk" (i.e.: inoperable) vehicles visible on their property, the neighbors still have no room to complain.

FAA registration good till 2018-07-31
airworthiness certificate issued 1980-12-12

Sign on Window says currently not airworthiness,

Could mean it has not had its annual inspection done, or it requires some fixes.

The owner bought it 3/16/2012, updated address to Long Island on 12/26/14

FAA has a update to the Certificate on 7/15/2015
