I'm looking at flights from Denver to Toronto. All non-stops from Denver are on small planes (regional jets). And even if you have a layover at another large airport, it's still a regional jet that takes you into Toronto. I couldn't fine even one flight via connection that was on even a 737 into Toronto. Why is that? You'd think that flying between two major N. American cities, you'd find at least a 737.

Not if you're flying UA/*A. Air Canada uses CJ regional jets, and UA uses the Embrarer ones.

It's not a high demand route. There's probably 737's between ORD and EWR to YYZ.

Are these small jets going to the Pierson international airport or the downtown Toronto Islands airport? My wife just took a trip from Myrtle Beach to the Toronto islands airport on a small turbo prop .

To the original poster.......

This sounds like a odd thing to worry about. Sort of like complaining that the limo that takes you to the airport is a Lincoln, not a Cadillac ? All I care about is that the flight is on time, and they don't send my luggage to Haiti, instead of Halifax.

Or maybe he would just like to be on a larger jet from Denver to Toronto? That is quite a long flight to be stuck on something like an RJ. And chances are a layover would still be in some other city more than an hour away from Denver, where a 7x7 or A3xx would be a much more comfortable ride.

So no, it is not an odd thing to worry about when you're spending hundreds of dollars on a plane ticket. Also, it's more akin to complaining that the limo picking you up is a Honda Accord instead of a Lincoln. A Lincoln and a Caddy are the same type of car. Your comparison was terrible.

Pearson. (YYZ) Instead of Billy Bishop (YTZ). That's why you use the pretentious airport codes.

Keeps you from going to Midway (MID) instead of O'Hare (ORD) in Chicago or Hobby (HOU) instead of Intercontinental (IAH) in Houston.

DEN-YYZ is roughly 1,300 miles or about a 2.5ish hour flight. The E175/E190's are a lot more comfortable than the A320/737's with 2-2 seating and the CRJ-700's aren't too bad either for a short hop.

There just isn't the demand for a 737/A320 worth of passengers.

Frequency also comes to play.. If you have 4 or 5 CR7 or E75 flights daily between the two that would be equal to about two 737/320 flights daily plus better cater to the needs of the business flier who needs flexibility/frequency.

The largest aircraft I've seen being used between an American/Canadian city pairing in recent years is YYZ/LAX which has utilized AC 777's.
