own/operate an older steam gauge IFR panel Skylane C-182 for the last 32 years.
First flew in a C172 in 1968, then with a friend in a '55 C180 for years before getting my own ticket in a C152. Flew C172's, 170's, 185's, and an older strut wing C210. Have several hours dual time in each: C310, T34B, 275 hp Stearman, and a T-6.
Well, I'm retired USAF and wasn't a real pilot, but I sat behind one as a Weapons Systems Officer. Duties included running inertial nav systems, radar and weapons release computer gear in the F-4C,D, and E models of the Phantom II plus the RF-4C (US, Spanish and German export models on deliveries to European allies). Most were flyable from the back seat so I got in a lot of unofficial stick time. Also flew in the T-33 "T-Bird" and the F-101 Voodoo (unofficially known as the flying Crowbar). Loved it all and glad to have survived to talk about it. Flight time includes 220 hours in combat in Vietnam and other nearby countries.
