Hi. I have found a row house rehab that I like in the Patterson Park area. The neighborhood looks safe and well-maintained. The developer is a little slick and I would like someone to protect my interests while dealing with these "professionals." Does anyone have experience with a good attorney in these matters that they would care to recommend? Thanks.

I can't recommend either: my home inspector ended up being awful, and I didn't use an attorney. However, you might also try the Butchers Hill listserv for answers to your questions. Go to yahoo.com, click on "Groups" on the left of your screen, and search for "Butchers Hill."

This group is a great resource for recommendations; I wish I had used them when I was looking for a real estate agent.

Also, make sure you get an inspector who will go up on the roof. You want to make sure that there are screens over the exhaust (?) outlets on the roof so that the birds don't nest in them.

I recently bought in Patteson Park and am glad that I did. Welcome!

Smile Re:Need real estate attorney, home inspector, & roof deck builder

If anyone has any good recommendations, which I would greatly appreciate ASAP as I'm ready to sign a contract with 3rd party approval, I can be advised here, or privately, at pgi2141@comcast.net. This is pretty scary, so thanks for any help you may provide. Augie, "soon to be a Marylander". Thanks.

You can always look into State, or County or City approved home inspestors. I know first hand they have a list somewhere...

Not a good time to be investing in real estate property, it's going no where but down.

I used Gerald Beauchesne & Associates for a home inspector. He knew a lot about old rowhouses and seemed very honest (he told me few things I didn't want to hear). It was 7 years ago, but I assume he's still in business. The phone # I have is 410-339-7007.

Default Be careful

Jonjj reads the newspapers and may be right. But The Sun's listings are very old and may give a misleading picture in this market. Daily Record, the legal newspaper, has more recent listings.
