Hello all - I'm recently married and starting a job at UM-Baltimore, and was hoping to ask for thoughts on living in the Pigtown neighborhood. What are the best places, if any, to look for housing within Pigtown? What are some of the positives and negatives of living in the neighborhood?

Any info is appreciated and welcome, thanks!

I was going to recommend posting this on another board which it looks like you've done. Should get some good responses there.

The ugliness of Washington Blvd. and everything that resides in that corridor. Almost had to bust my gun a few times in that neighborhood because The Walking Dead don't listen.

It tends to get worse as you go in from MLK. It has changed quite a bit since I lived there but I imagine that everything just moved further down Washington Blvd.

I suggest that you and your spouse come to Baltimore and drive around Pigtown in the afternoon, evening, and late at night. Then you can decide if you still want to live there.

I would also consider living in Ridgely's Delight, Otterbein, or even Federal Hill.
