I've found a job in Baltimore MT. Vernon area, and my friend has found one in owing mills MD. Any suggestions on neighborhoods? I'm a lot apprehensive and don't have a lot of time to look as I have to join within a month.

Sorry about the delay. Budget $1500, and yes we both have cars. I'm looking at the area around John's Hopkins for now. I'd like to stay in a neighborhood with some greenery, parking, and some amount of shops, etc within walking distance.

Maybe consider mount washington if you can find some places that meet your budget. There is shopping and within 30 min to both owings mills and mount vernon.
