I was buying a few groceries at the H Mart in Catonsville last night. As I was checking out at the cashier, I saw a Baltimore County police officer slowly walk behind the cashier and take candy from the display. The officer sheepishly smiles at the cashier, while the cashier and bag lady (both old asian ladies) just nod while looking very uncomfortable. The officer goes back to the front of the store where she looked like she was monitoring traffic in and out of the store. The officer was a short overweight African-American woman.

I know it's just some candy, but the whole thing looked incredibly unprofessional and inappropriate by the police officer. If this officer is taking candy while people are watching, what else is she getting for free when no one's watching?

I made a complaint about this on Baltimore County Police's Website. I explained that I would post this on social media and post their response.

Just my little rant.

Good spot, it sounds fishy if true. Baltimore is 100% corrupt, including the police force it appears.
The democrats running the dump also steal candy and more from local taxpayers.
One of the public school officials just got sentenced to jail.

Many of them think wearing the badge and uniform makes them gods and can do anything they want. You should have carefully captured the event on camera and distributed to news organizations. I wouldn't trust the cops to investigate themselves. Also be very careful not to confront them. They might beat you up or even murder you so you can't talk.

It's also possible that the officer was detailed there because of a specific threat or frequent harassment or holdups and she was told by the store owners to help herself. It is common for police officers to receive free food and drink from convenience stores and fast food places. Their presence is a deterrent.

meh .... If the owner wants to offer an inducement to stop by his store, I have no problem with it. Certainly nothing to get worked up about.
