Yes they are and from what I heard the fans loved him. I don't know the whole story but Bobby helped his team win its first Pacific League pennant in 31 years, was fired and the fans were outraged.

I was petrified the Sox would get Sveum. Ugh. Worst 3rd base coach ever.

I am thrilled that Bobby will be the Sox manager. It will be a fun season and I can't wait to see him in Spring Training.

I think that the sox need someone more strict than Francona but I think Bobby V might be too much.

Yes "wave em en Sveum" was a very bad third base coach but that doesn't mean he'd be a bad manager.

lol-- I think it shows he makes rash decisions under pressure. I hope the Cubbies love him. I really do.

The latest is Tito was hired for Bobby's old job at ESPN. I think that's great. He did commentary for a couple games when Tim McCarver was out last season during the playoffs. He did a nice job

I'd like to see Tim McCarver out permanently!

The most intriguing event in the Valentine era would be what disguise will he use when he get ejected------will it be mustache or trainers outfit or what?

That was one game 12 years ago. Definitely worth the bold type.

Outside officials say the clubhouse dislike for Bobby Valentine is so intense, players lobbying ownership for a change is not an overstatement.

Officially done with this team. This is the least likeable Sox team that I can remember. It would be one thing if they simply lacked talent. But this team is under performing big time. It started last year with the big collapse and the whole beer and chicken in the locker room thing. And now the players are complaining about the manager and acting like babies. Lester has sucked this season, Beckett has sucked this season. Gonzalez has not played that great. The starters have struggled to make it into the late innings. The team was starting a road trip that saw the team play the Rangers and Yankees. We needed the bullpen for those games and they are complaining that Bobby left Lester in to get shelled? I get the impression a lot of the players simply do not care and are not willing to play hard.

I am jumping on the Pittsburgh Pirates bandwagon for the rest of the year.

Had to quote myself. Management stepped forward and said Bobby Valentine's "season is not in jeopardy". I repeat "season" is not in jeopardy. Some vote of confidence. Like I previously stated in 2011, expect Bobby V gone after this year. Maybe the Red sox will come crawling back to Francona and admit the mistake of blaming him for the previous issues. They were a good fit.
