nice article. wasn't there a similar one in the NYT not too long ago? the 36-hour thing sounded familiar.


regardless, that itinerary would be exhausting! haha.

Actually, I believe it was the Washington Post that did a story similar to this last year. Regardless, it is good to see the city getting some major shine on the media.

Yeah I found this out a while ago when me and a couple of friends were looking at the Bike Sharing system in Austin and Houston. Found out that they were actually called pedelec bikes, and the one's in Birmingham were the first group in North America.

Even though I could've sworn I seen a few in NYC, eh, idk.

The Birmingham News reported it to be the first in the western hemisphere, which is really cool!


"Birmingham's program will make it the first city in the Western Hemisphere to use "electric-assist" bikes, or those that use electricity to help with pedaling in hilly terrain, according to REV Birmingham."
