I usually shy away from popular books, but Chris Cleave's "Little Bee" got GREAT reviews and ratings, so I decided to give it a try. I ended up HATING IT. What a miserable book! PROS and CONS given below:
Pros:
1. Great story idea (if he didn't butcher it!)
Cons:
1. TOTALLY Unrealistic plot
2. Awkward dialogue/narrative
3. Felt rushed, as if Cleave had a deadline
4. Ending was AWFUL!
5. Lack of depth into characters
Has anyone else read Cleave's "Little Bee?" What did you think?!

I'm a non-fiction fan (mostly memoirs) but when this novel first came out, I read it and loved it. Maybe it was because I was yearning for some far-fetched fiction -- I don't know -- but I really enjoyed it a lot.
I have the girl who played with fire on my bookshelf but haven't read it yet as a friend told me I should read the first one before the second, and I haven't gotten around to getting it yet.
