Well, I can think of one good thing about it. . .

If it will encourage non-avid readers to READ then that's a positive. Because I don't think children read for self-entertainment like we used to do. Really, I don't.

As much as I agree in general, there is such a thing as bad literature ... case and point.

The Harry Potter series got kids to read for awhile. Some people out there think they're junk but they are imaginative.

As a teen I spent a LOT of time reading junk magazines like 16 and Tigerbeat. Not even imagination there, just good for school fantasies. Until I was in my teens I was addicted to comics. Hmm. Bieber's book is sounding less ridiculous after thinking back to my own youth. . . .
