I started this last night and it is a page turner. I heard the author interviewed on NPR a couple of weeks ago and reserved it at my library that day.

Take 72 of the world's most tenacious crime solvers, FBI, police, DEA, Customs, Interpol, you name it. Put them in a room once a month and let them work on solving cold cases.

Heck, just the histories of some of the detectives is more compelling than most books today.

I saw something about this book and kept forgetting the name ~~ I knew it was something with Sherlock Holmes~~...the full name is The Murder Room: The Heirs of Sherlock Holmes Gather to Solve the World's Most Perplexing Cold Cases (copied and pasted.. and am anxious to read it as well. Someone else mentioned it today. I reserved it at my library and should get it pretty soon. It's very new; there was a bit of a wait list but not too bad. I can't wait to read it!

I was lucky because I was 3rd on the list when I reserved it, but my name came up in 2 1/2 weeks! Apparently others thought it as much of a page turner as I did.

Brought it home Tuesday but didn't get much evening reading done as I had a prior commitment Tues through Thurs evenings. I finished it tongith, Saturday.

I told my wife she might like it as she likes to read murder fiction and that this is much better.

I just finished it last night and whilst I liked most of the book, I have to say it wasn't exactly a huge page-turner for me. I found too much of the club's members personalities and life stories intruding on the stories of the cases they worked on a solved. Sure, a little background on these guys was good but their stories weren't the reason I wanted to read the book. I'm also not 100% convinced about some of their conclusions (eg; The boy in the box) which come across as being utterly definitive in their minds and impossible to question.
