Hmmm---I don't get this stuff. There is a vegan website called Thug Kitchen---people loved it, as much for the attitude/profanity as the recipes....but then it was found out who was actually doing the writing of the site...and it became controversial since the couple seemed to be just posturing as thugs.
I don't think a book reviewer/condenser has to be a high-brow person with a doctorate degree and a British accent, but this just seems like more of a focus on poking fun at books, using profanity and having an attitude, and showcasing his personality more than about the book in question. And if every book is condensed in the same way, the flavor of each is lost.
Yup, I'm hopelessly old school. Glad that there is Thug Notes for people who enjoy it, but hope really thoughtful reviews/condensations stick around.
