Just Boston? Would the rest of Massachusetts (and New England) remain in Eastern Time?

Personally, I hate waking up when it's dark out, so I love Boston's position within the time zone. I usually wake up around 7:15, which is always after sunrise no matter what time of year. When I lived in France, I got tired pretty quickly of having dark skies at 9am in the morning around December/January.

All of New England should be on Atlantic Time I think, but that would cut us off from NYC, DC, and so on, so it will never happen.

'Think it's bad in Boston? You ought to experience sunrise and sunset in Northern and Downeast Maine. I'm talking dawn at 3:30AM in Houlton in June and July and total darkness at something like 4PM in December. Maine is actually a lower latitude than Most of Washington State and the Pacific Northwest and Northern border states, so it isn't that northern Maine is near the Arctic Circle. It's just that it sticks way into what should be Atlantic Time.
