I was wondering if anyone has suggestions for long term car rental options in the area? We need an extra vehicle for 3-4 months later in the year. I know the major rental agencies have monthly rates, though they are relatively expensive. Any other options or experiences would be greatly appreciated. I am not looking for a rent a wreck type vehicle.

It allows you to assume someone else's lease. It might be a little longer than you want.
You could also try to rent cars a week a time through someone like hotwire.com where they have inexpensive offers if you don't car what company it is from.
