I say Floyd by UD. Chavez was losing to Meldrick Taylor when Richard Steele stopped the fight with only a few seconds remaining. Taylor was not as slick defensively as Floyd and he took a lot of punches.
I think Chavez is just the type of fighter who could beat Floyd. He was a pressure fighter, relentless, and he had decent power. I've always felt that the major weakness with the Mayweathers was that they couldn't handle continuous pressure. They thrive on predictability. They prefer fighters who are methodical and easy to control.
I think Floyd is far too good however. He wouldn't be able to knock out Chavez, but he would be able to outbox him.
