A "true" fight? Does that mean biting, knives and groin shots?

It was a game for Conner. He was just out having a bit of fun. He just got tired, that's all.

Does this look like a fight to you? Look how much fun he's having.

I do see it. $30 million dollars for an amateur boxer (a 0-0 record boxer fighting a GOAT in boxing with a 49-0 record) to show and then add PPV points, gate, etc. He probably walked away with $75 million. Can you name another amateur boxer or athlete getting $30 million just to show??

At the end of the day, Floyd selected Conor since it would be an easy fight and a BIG payday. Conor had what other Floyd opponents lacked, charisma to sell a fight. Floyd wanted to keep and not risk the undefeated streak going and make $$$. This was the perfect scenario for him.

Imagine Floyd fighting GGG or a more experienced Canelo Alvarez. Those fights are risky for Floyd and not a big payoff due to both fighter's not having the ability to hype and sell the fight.

I'd like to see GGG and Andre Ward give it a go.

Perhaps.

Personally, I believe it might be wise to wait and see how GGG does against Canelo first. Ward is a very skilled fighter. He has shown the ability to adapt and optimize his tools.

He picked apart Kovalev in the second fight. Granted, I think Kovalev was mentally weakened from events in his camp and perhaps also was guilty of having a bully personality, so Ward was able to take advantage of that. Kovalev did not adapt.

GGG had a very close fight with Jacobs in his last fight, but Jacobs also was able to gauge distance better later on in the fight. Maybe there are two stories.

Maybe Jacobs is underrated and was able to smoothly transition late in the fight or GGG is not performing at the level he has shown capable in the past. More likely, both.

I just hope neither GGG or Canelo gets hurt.

Personally I think it more than fulfilled my expectation of entertainment. Anyone who speaks of the money the fighters made or the cost of the PPV unless you watched it for free probably didn't care about the fight in the first place.

I thought it was intriguing. Both played up the prefight shenanigans perfectly. And once the fight started, it was just that, a fight. Mayweather did his thing feeling out an opponent the likes he had never fought before. But it was quite evident after the first round who was going to win, and it had nothing to do with the potential of Conor gassing out in later rounds. This was a boxing match, and even though Mayweather didn't throw much in the first round, you could see the amazing power difference between both fighters. Conor had no power behind his punches, while Mayweather had a boxer's pop and power.

It went plenty of rounds, and gave me satisfaction at the end. And both were professional (and please don't give me the laughing all the way to the bank crap).

I watched the next day on youtube for free.
Well, I was going to post the url for it but it is no longer available due to "a copyright claim by CBS Corporation".

Read the entire thread and still don't understand the outrage from the OP. It is still not clear to me what you expected.
Did you wanted it to be over more quickly? Well Floyd wanted to give the fans their moneys worth.
Other than that it went the only way it could have went.

DON"T WATCH IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE LAST SEASON OF GoT.
