With it being the Christmas season, it got me thinking about how each community usually has some sort of venue to enjoy Christmas lights, be it the zoo, drive through race tracks, neighborhoods, etc. So for the locals in the Brevard area, what are the best places to see lights? Are there any annual tree lighting ceremonies? Holiday ships?

Little late for tree lightings and parades but check out Brevard Zoo......2012 Special Events — Brevard Zoo — Melbourne, FL

Wickham Park in Melbourne has a big drive through display. Can also find lights to go see on a Facebook page :

I remember last year there was one house in Malabar area with synchronized lights and music but haven't seen if it is up this year.

Usually Florida Today has a list, too. http://www.floridatoday.com/article/...|topnews|text|

If you have the time and money the best place for Christmas theme right now is Sea World. They have some beautiful trees, lights, and shows. We make it part of our Christmas tradition now. WDW and Universal as well as Busch Gardens .

Thanks Rabflmom,

We're not down there yet, but will be next year. In our activities in our current town, it got me wondering what some of the festivities are around Brevard county. We've been to WDW and SeaWorld during the holidays before and know what they offer. Love Osborne lights at DHS. I was thinking something closer to "home" in and around the Melbourne area.

Thanks for the links, I'll check them out and make a mental note for next year.

Cocoa Beach Boat Parade is this Saturday evening (12-15) after dark. Christmas decorated boats wind their way from the south side of the 520 Cswy. slowly southward going into each canal and wind up out at the tip of Country Club. Most folks who live on the river or canal will be having parties that night and everyone sits on the docks and seawalls and watches the lights. Good fun. Sunset Grill is a good spot to watch but it will be packed. You can easily join in with the residents at any of the riverfront condos like Four Seasons which has three docks and a lot of waterfront.
