How bad is the crime in the Cocoa / Rockledge area bordering the Rosa Jones Blvd?

Bought a house about a block south of there.

I knew there were some big issues back in the 80's but I can't find any more recent major problems in that area.

What do folks on here know about that area? I guess some folks have mentioned it is "little vietnam" but I guess what area does that border?

Appreciate any help.

OK, thank you for the input.

I contacted the police office and got a response from the police chief. His response back was that crime in Rockledge has dropped over 30% in the last 18 months and said he believes the area is relatively safe. But he did also mention that he is 'partial' because he is also the police chief.

Just doesn't seem like the realtors will even give us a straight answer either. They just tell us that they ran some kind of report on the 32955 zip code and they are telling me that it is 'very low crime'.

Termite inspector said that it is also safe, home inspector. But then a few response i got back from people that live near the area (west of Fiske) said that they don't feel safe even walking around the area East of Fiske - even though it is in Rockledge.

OK, that is really odd. The previous replies that were showing on here are now gone.

Anyone else living in the area provide details about the crime around Rosa Jones Blvd around Fiske?

Here is an example of a home for sale in that area . Click on the link and scroll down to the part where it shows the crime data if you click on that you can see what crimes have been comitted recently near that location. It seems to be a fairly safe area. It is in the green color which they consider safe .

I recommend talkng to your neighbors who have been there a while . They will know.

That's because the poster was rude in another post, got reported and was removed. He probably will be back under a different name as the one he posted under was brand new this month.

Thank you for the reply. The crime mapping on Trulia is not accurate at all. No idea where or how they get their crime stats to make the maps. So that is why I was just checking to see what others that are in the area feel is proper for that area.

The home is going to be a rental house. We closed on it Thursday and have about three weeks of renovations but we've already posted it out online. Unfortunately all we have is pre-renovation pictures and a video which I think is deterring some potential candidates. But that is all we have for now.
