And the darn local channels talk about the weather and cut in all time. How am gonna not watch jeopardy again. Everybody has a damn cell phone now for the weather. My gosh you would think nobody knows how to handle the stuff.

And they tell us how to dress and make sure you get this and that.

I feel like Elvis might get a gun an shoot my TV especially those damn weather folks, except Maria.

There was a time in up through the late 80s/early 90s when the sports segment actually came on BEFORE the weather segment during the 6pm newscasts on two of the three Buffalo locals. (4 and 7). I agree with an above poster that cutting into programming every ten minutes for weather updates is a bit excessive. A one minute briefing at the top of every hour is sufficient. At one point, this same information was carried by a simple crawler message running along the bottom of the screen. (which posed a problem on some of the older television sets that had rounded off corners on their screens.) I remember that because it was my nightly assignment to write down the winning lottery numbers (which were also shown by crawler bulletin then) for my mother while watching Growing Pains, MacGyver, and Who's the Boss? That's how it used to be back in the 70s and 80s. For catastrophic weather events like tornado outbreaks though, I would advocate breaking in with a full news update, but thankfully WNY very rarely sees major tornado outbreaks like Nebraska, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Iowa.

Let’s recap the weather, it’s cold, windy and ban on driving. All the locals networks think everybody loves hearing about this all day long.

Hope everyone in the area is OK. I lived through 62 winters and this comes with the territory. Best wishes everyone and stay warm.
