I would actually give that a 50/50 chance. Not saying the team will leave, but it does seem to be a good time to sell, with the team the best it's been in years, the new stadium, and he's already profited over a billion.

There also could be some downsizing at Pagula Entertainment. Maybe sell the Sabres and/ or the Amerks. Not trying to start anything, but I do see these as possibilities.
Even with that, I think the team would still stay in the area. That's even if he sells the team, as you may have someone like Golisano or the Glazers, among others(Weitsman, etc.), buying the team(s).

Golisano and the Glazers. Wow. 2 former Rochester billionaires.

Why not? Considering that the Wilsons were originally from Detroit and Pegula is originally from the Scranton area, I could see someone from Upstate interested in the team if it were for sale.

Weitsman is a current Syracuse area billionaire that is originally from Owego, by the way.

Not sure that he would be interested if the team was up for sale, but here is some information about him: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_Weitsman

I think you have to be worth many billions to buy a team now. Mr Pegula is worth 7 billion and he is 13th on the owners list. The newer owners are mega rich.

All of the people mentioned are billionaires. So, I don't know if it would be an issue for any of them.

The team is currently worth 3.4 billion so you would need at least that or else some partners. The Washington Commanders will sell for north of 6 billion. There are only 32 franchises and wealthy people enjoy the prestige.

I think Pegula was worth half of that since he came on the scene in Buffalo. His fracking business most likely has skyrocketed too.

A few other billionaires in the area, Danny Wegman, Richard Sands and Robert Sands. I don't believe some type of partnership would be out of the question, either.
