I know some don't like it, but the suburbs here are where I've grown up, and the area is so nice! I love the beautiful four seasons. (although, this warm fall is nice )

I don't know why some hate the winters so much. I can't imagine living in a place where it's just sunny and normal during winter.

I can't imagine living anywhere else!

I think one of the problems with Niagara Falls (usa) is that it has had 4 different mayors of the past four terms. There has been a lot inconsistency over the past 16 years and what one began, the next elected contradicts previous plans.

There are things that the City of Niagara Falls can do, like improving their infrastructure and not try to rely too much on the tourism, perhaps a better focus towards the residents is needed. Tourist come and go, the residents live, work and raise families there. Tourism will always come to Niagara Falls, thus a nice looking, prosperous city doesn't necessarily have to filled with neon lighting and crowded casinos.

There are four major problems holding back Niagara Falls from what it could be: poverty, environmental contamination, High taxes and political corruption. Unfortunately I don't see any of those factors changing anytime soon.

1. The underclass is very entrenched throughout the city
2. It would take massive amounts of money to clean up the numerous known and unknown chemical and radioactive waste sites.
3. Taxes if anything will be going up in this national recessionary environment.
4. Corruption is so widespread beacuse the government is the only source of wealth in the area.

Any suggestions on how to change these factors?

Niagara Falls is sad.

The Seneca is nice, though.

Honestly I love Buffalo as well. I just couldnt make a living there. Finally had to leave in search of better wages. So that I not only had enough for my bills but a little bit left over for fun as well.
Someday I will be back

let me begin by saying i grew up about 2 hours south of buffalo, in northwest PA. i've been a bills fan my whole life though, so beginning around 2001 when i was in college, i started making my to some home bills games. gradually started spending more time in the city, and i gotta say i am infatuated with this city.

the culture, the people, the architecture, the food, the sports, the "blue collar" feel. all i had ever heard about buffalo was that it was a city declining, economy sucked, blah blah blah. after visiting, i can say there are a few people who will paint that picture about buffalo being the worst place to ever live, but for the most part the feeling i get when i visit buffalo is a city full of energetic people trying to make a difference, and on the verge of breaking through again. it will happen.

i live in florida now, and can't wait to move back north. unfortunately my fiancee wont venture to buffalo believe me i've tried LOL, but i look forward to being close enough to visit more often. i can say this though, almost everyone i meet that has transplanted elsewhere misses buffalo and wants to move back. it's only a matter of time....

oh, and go bills and sabres! im flying up for the monday nighter this coming week, cant wait!

I love this area too, except for the longish winters (I don't mind snow in moderation, but by March I could use more sun and warm) and limited job opportunities that pay well. I do ok for myself, but have been searching for a change in career and have found few opportunities outside of work similar to what I do now.
