Alibaba and other b2b sites (credit card, small business, money, country)

Good evening everyone,

I’m sure this isn’t the most common topic in the business forum but,
Has anyone used Alibaba on here before or other b2b/ import websites? I am thinking of ordering things on Alibaba but I don’t know how legit it is and what the best approach for it is. I know many of them accept western union for example, but I don’t want to start wiring money to unknown businesses in a 3rd world country lol. Also, what are the import taxes? I am also thinking of importing large amounts of metals (bronze copper etc) so if anyone has any suggestions on what to do please chime in! Thanks and have a great night everyone!

Alibaba: MOQ on the listings is usually in the hundreds or thousands of units.

AliExpress: Not so much. Good resource for small businesses.

dhgate: Lots of consumer goods, lots of counterfeits. Probably not what you're looking for.

Credit card processing is safe. The marketplaces guarantee you'll get what you ordered. Shipping can be slow, sometimes takes months. Might be worse around Chinese New Year.

Thank you sir, so for Alibaba, is it safe and legit to say, order copper? It looks too good to be true almost. I see postings for copper for 500-800 for a ton of copper. That seems really cheap unless the shipping is a catch. Have you ordered multiple things on there and if so, what have you ordered?
